Meet the author.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for stopping by, my name is Vicky. This is my site, which I set up while on maternity leave with my second child in early 2017.

I’m from Leeds, I live with my boyfriend, two children and dog. There’s 13 years between my children, it sure is a challenge having a teenager and a baby in the house. Luckily for me my partner is 10 years younger than me and is great at running about after the kids.

I have coeliac disease, so does my eldest son (14 years old), my daughter who is only 7 months is currently gluten free too, we are doing baby led weaning. I plan on introducing gluten once all the other foods are established and she is fit and well. She has been teething since she was five months old and has only just cut her first tooth closely followed by her second. I did plan on introducing gluten this week but she now has an awful cough and cold. Once she’s over this I’ll get her weighed and measured, just in case the gluten stops her growth. Then we will trial gluten to see how she gets on. Of course I’ll write up what happens and how it goes.

Coeliac disease definitely runs in my family as well as my son and I having it, my sister also has it and there was a strong possibility my mum had it. When we found out that it ran in our family my mum was already, by default gluten free, she had MND and by the this time she was fed liquid meals that were all gluten free via a peg tube. Unfortunately my mum died in February 2016 when I was 6 months pregnant.
